Dr. Kapila V. Paghdal

Dr. Kapila Paghdal

Dr. Kapila Paghdal is a double board certified Dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs Micrographic Dermatologic Surgeon. She specializes in cosmetics, lasers, and skin cancer surgery. Dr. Paghdal completed a fellowship in Procedural Dermatology at Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine, where she was trained in Mohs Surgery, a special technique for removing skin cancer. Prior to this, she completed a residency in Dermatology at the University of South Florida, where she was able to work with a wide range of patients. She cared for patients and veterans at Moffitt Cancer Center and James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital treating both medical and surgical dermatologic concerns.

Dr. Paghdal is one of a few dermatologists in the country with both an M.D. and a Doctorate in Pharmacy. She completed her Doctorate in Medicine at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society for academic achievement and the Gold Humanism Honor Society for compassion and dedication to service. At Rutgers’ Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, she was inducted into the Rho Chi Honor Society. Her training in pharmaceutical chemistry and its application enhances her patient care knowledge to effectively treat conditions such as skin cancer, acne, psoriasis and scarring, as well as aging (wrinkles, texture abnormalities and hyperpigmentation) for all skin types.

She has published many peer-reviewed scientific articles in prestigious journals on various drugs and their effects on skin conditions and has authored book chapters regarding Mohs surgery and surgical techniques. Dr. Paghdal’s clinical research experience includes research studies involving melanoma, platelet rich plasma (PRP), hyaluronidase, scarring, Botox, and subcision for acne scarring. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Paghdal enjoys spending time with her husband and two young children. In her free time, she enjoys working out, time with family and friends, traveling, and being a bookworm.

Dr. Karin H. Satra

Dr. Karin H. Satra

is a compassionate, sincere, and dedicated dermatologist. She has been practicing dermatology for over 20 years and is committed to providing excellent patient care. She is a diplomate of The National Board of Medical Examiners and is board certified in Dermatology as well as Internal Medicine. This uniquely comprehensive background enables Dr. Satra to provide her patients with the most advanced care. She is a fellow in The American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the New Jersey Dermatologic Society as well as the Bergen County Medical Society.

Dr. Satra completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Douglas College of Rutgers University where she graduated summa cum laude. She then went on to Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York where she was conferred the title of Medical Doctor (M.D.).

She received her dermatology training at New York Presbyterian Medical Center where she was honored to be selected as Chief Resident. Prior to that, she completed an Internal Medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and a dermatology research fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Currently Dr. Satra is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she supervises residents in dermatology.

Besides medicine, Dr. Satra’s other passions include music, athletics, and service. An avid violist, she has performed in numerous groups including the Adelphi Chamber Orchestra, The Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra, and various string quartets. Dr. Satra enjoys yoga and bicycling, competing each year in a triathalon, and participates in Ski For Light/Sports For Health, programs dedicated to skiing, biking, and other activities with the visually impaired. As an athlete, she likes to challenge herself. She was proud to recently complete a century ride (100 miles in one day) on a tandem bike with her visually impaired bike partner, and to climb to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Dr. Amy Stevens

Dr. Amy Stevens

is board certified with more than 20 years of experience treating patients in private practice in Bergen County. She specializes in medical dermatology and treats both adults and children. She believes that the doctor patient relationship should be compassionate and respectful and she encourages patients to ask questions and actively participate in their health care.

Dr. Stevens graduated from Barnard College and received her medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. She completed her internship in internal medicine and residency in dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York. She is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Dermatology and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

In addition to her work in private practice, Dr Stevens is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Dermatology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Assistant Attending in Dermatology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, where she teaches and supervises dermatology residents and medical students. She spent many years in both the academic and private industry setting doing scientific research in dermatology and infectious disease and has published articles in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, the New England Journal of Medicine, Pediatric Dermatology, and others.

Dr. David Ciocon

received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University (cum laude) and his M.D. from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Prior to his residency in dermatology, he completed three years of combined general and plastic surgery residency training at Brown University, Rhode Island Hospital as well as a one-year clinical research fellowship in psoriasis at Harvard University, Brigham & Women’s Hospital. He subsequently completed his dermatology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Montefiore Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident and recipient of the Leo M. Davidoff Award for Excellence in Teaching. He then completed a Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology fellowship at Skin Laser & Surgery Specialists of New York and New Jersey under the guidance of Dr. David Goldberg. He has co-authored numerous articles and chapters in the fields of psoriasis, nail disorders, and surgical and non-surgical approaches to cosmetic rejuvenation.

A board certified dermatologist, he is licensed in New Jersey and New York. He is a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the American Academy of Dermatology. He is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery. He is currently the Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Procedural Dermatology at the Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He is on the medical staff of Montefiore Medical Center and Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. His clinical interests include Mohs Micrographic surgery, facial reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, laser-assisted tumescent liposuction, autologous fat transfer, laser medicine, and minimally invasive cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Xuan Wang

Dr. Xuan Wang

Dr. Xuan Wang is a board-certified Anatomic Pathologist with subspecialty board certification in Dermatopathology.  She received a Bachelor of Medicine degree at Shanghai Medical University in China, and a Ph.D. in Biology at Brandeis University in Massachusetts.  Dr. Wang completed residency training in Anatomic Pathology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College.  She subsequently pursued fellowship training in Dermatopathology with Dr. Cynthia Magro and Dr. Klaus Busam at the combined program between Weill Cornell Medical College and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.  Prior to residency training, Dr. Wang conducted research in Skin Biology at the Rockefeller University.  She has published several peer-reviewed journal articles relating to skin pathology and skin biology.

Besides her appointment at the Bergen Dermatology Specialists, Dr. Wang is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College, where she is the Assistant Director of Dermatopathology, and an Attending Pathologist at the Laboratory of Dermatopathology of Aurora Diagnostics, where she serves as the Medical Director.

In her spare time, Dr. Wang enjoys spending time with her family and various outdoor activities.
